"I may give out but I never give up" - Richard Overton

Final Multimodal Statement

Multimodal Statement

I plan to argue how I believe my life does have an overall narrative that I am not only following but also creating as I live my life. The overall narrative of my life is being a firefighter and developing the mindset of one over the many years of growing up.

The first multimodal component I plan to use visual in the form of pictures. I will use the pictures below to show how this truly has been my narrative since a very young age. I chose this particular mode to express this because pictures easily grab the reader’s attention. It also easily expresses how it is not just a hobby or job but a lifestyle that has helped shape me but also continues to shape me.

Secondly I will use audio when incorporating quotes from the narrative project into my essay. I am not sure yet what quotes I will use for this yet. I am choosing to have them audible because it adds another “layer” to the essay. However, it also adds more personality, but not my personality. I can easily write the quote and interpret it myself. But if I add the actual audio of it, it adds the emotions of the speaker to it and makes it much more personal and meaningful to actually hear the voice behind the quote.

Finally, I will incorporate a spatial component to this paper. I will lay it out as a normal essay but I will bold all of the overarching arguments and the words I feel most important to the essay. This will be interesting to look back at this and see what mattered most to me.
